Cabinet Painting & Refinishing
A new kitchen for a fraction of a new kitchen
If the boxes are solid, painting your cabinets gets you most of the way to a new kitchen for a small share of the cost. It is also the least forgiving painting there is — cabinet doors get touched, wiped and slammed every day, so the degreasing, sanding and priming have to be done properly or it peels at the handles inside a year. Doors come off, get labeled, and go back exactly where they came from.
Our Process
Assess the Boxes
We check whether the cabinets are worth refinishing — if they are not, we tell you that instead of taking the job.
Strip & Degrease
Doors and drawers come off and get labeled, then everything is degreased and sanded so the primer can bite.
Prime & Coat
A bonding primer goes on, then enamel coats, so the finish lays flat instead of showing brush marks.
Rehang & Adjust
Doors go back where they came from, hinges are adjusted, and every door and drawer is checked for alignment.
